Noble's Sustainability Mission
Building a sustainably minded company is my life's work. As a brand, we work daily to thoughtfully consider the impact we have on the planet. It starts by asking questions like— Where did the raw materials come from? How far did they have to travel to go from seed to the final stitch? Were the farmers and sewers paid a fair wage? What is the lifecycle of each garment? And then, with these answers; we are transparent with our community every step of the way. For us, it all started in Lima, Peru.
100% Certified Organic Cotton. Grown, milled and sewn in Peru.
We believe in certified organic cotton because it is made without the use of pesticides that are harmful to us, farmers, and the environment.
All of our Noble garments are made with GOTS certified organic cotton. This certification guarantees the traceability of the organic cotton that we use, and the standard of fair treatment to every person involved in the production chain.
So, Why Peru? Peruvian Pima Cotton, unlike other cotton varietals, is drought tolerant. This means that it takes 50% less water to grow. Unlike most commercial cotton, our Organic Pima Cotton is harvested entirely by hand. This allows for an exceptionally long staple and makes the cotton more soft and durable. The more durable your clothing, the longer it will last and stay out of our landfills.
From seed to stitch our garments are made in Peru in a completely vertical operation. Every part of the process is within a few hours of each other.
Our Organic Pima Cotton is grown, harvested by hand, spun into yarn, knit into fabric, dyed with low impact dyes, cut, and sewn into garments in and around Lima, Peru. This decreases our carbon footprint. Did you know that most of the cotton grown in the US is shipped overseas for cheaper labor? A vertical manufacturing operation is rare.
We're proud to share that this past year, our organic cotton supplier earned their Regenerative Organic Certification.
Regenerative Agriculture describes farming and grazing practices, that among other benefits reverse climate change. These practices help to rebuild organic soil matter and to restore its biodiversity. By Implementing this method results in the land being able to retain carbon dioxide emissions and water.
In March, after two years of development, we launched our very first upcycled, chemical, and dye-free denim in our Utility Suits in collaboration with the New Denim Project.
Our Noblesharing program is one years old! This is a special space for your garments to come full circle. Mail-in your used Noble threads for store credit or buy secondhand. Our goal is to build a community centered around sustainability and accessibility, bringing people together.
Our mailers are 100% recyclable which includes a recycled postcard & invoice and our 100% compostable poly bags that help to keep our product safe throughout its travels to us and you.
